Key Responsibilities: Analyze requirements and break down component functionalities. Propose design concepts and select appropriate components to meet mission-specific needs. Develop and design mechanical components for mission systems, including actuators, flexures, and precision mechanisms, and integrate hardware components. Design, procure, and set up fixtures and jigs to facilitate testing and integration. Plan, conduct, and analyze environmental tests (vibration, thermal, vacuum) and troubleshoot any arising issues. Define and coordinate the assembly and integration process of mission components into satellite systems. Create and maintain detailed documentation, including assembly procedures and test protocols. Collaborate with optical, firmware, and hardware teams to ensure seamless component integration. Develop testing and automation software to improve efficiency and streamline processes. Research and develop next-generation mission components to enhance future capabilities. Work in both workshop and cleanroom environments.
